1:1 Coaching
Not every development need fits inside a scheduled programme. Sometimes what someone needs is a dedicated space to work through a specific challenge with an experienced sounding board, on their timeline, not a course calendar.
One-to-one coaching gives individuals focused time with an experienced insurance L&D specialist. That might mean building confidence ahead of a difficult client conversation, preparing for a step up into management, working through a technical blind spot nobody else has noticed, or simply having somewhere to think out loud about where a career goes next. Sessions are shaped entirely around the person in front of us, not a fixed curriculum, and can run as a one-off session or an ongoing series depending on what’s actually needed.
Testimonials
Jo Davies, EverywhenThanks again for an amazing training session, by far the best I’ve had in my 20 years in this industry, and I know the group felt the same.
Jodie Bowes, AllMedProBefore I joined the course, I found it really difficult to settle into my role. Upon reflection, perhaps this was due to little guidance in addition to lack of confidence. So, I immersed myself into this course in the hope I would absorb as much valuable information as possible. And It did just that.
Joe Scallan, AcrisureI found myself approaching situations differently thanks to this course. As my company underwent significant restructuring, the ‘managing change’ module was invaluable in helping me guide my team. Matt is a brilliant trainer who keeps everyone engaged, delivering powerful insights I’ll apply moving forward in my management career..
Juliet Hamilton, CanopiusMatt is fantastic. He is able to bring topics alive and manages to engage everyone who is in the room. He is excellent at observing and commenting on individuals’ approach, engagement, personality in a positive way. My key takeaway is how everyone was pushed outside of their comfort zones, which is something not all of the team are able to get to do on a daily basis. Thank you.
Charlie Bishop, MacbethI honestly really enjoyed the course and have taken so much from it. It’s made a real difference to my confidence compared to where I was a year ago, so thank you for your support in helping me reach this point.
Aaron Martin, Berkeley Insurance GroupThe training session have been fantastic and have really made a difference for me. Some material in the CII study texts is written in a way that I haven’t been able to understand, but Matt has taken the time to explain the complexities of certain topics in a way that I can understanding, without feeling silly by using real example that I can relate to.
Marcie Potts, Thomas CarrollMatt is extremely knowledgeable and very very good at explaining things in terms that everyone can understand. The BI section is very complicated, and I have a good amount of knowledge on how it work, but I did have questions which Matt was able to answer so I was able to fully understand.
Nicole Gregory, All Med ProThank you so much for all your coaching and ongoing support throughout this journey. I know I tend to be less vocal during group sessions, but please know that I absorbed all the content and will continue to use and refer back to it in the future. As you probably gathered, I took a great deal away from the course it has truly been instrumental in helping me grow and develop.
Matt Duffy, Protect CommercialWe have been working with Matt OJ & Training Matters for some time now and is our strategic L&D partner. The quality of the material and content is excellent, and the delivery of the training by Matt is the best I have ever seen in a training environment. Matt adapts his approach to the various personalities in our organisation. It has improved every individual in our team.
Sian Kendrick, AllianzMatt Owen-James was fantastic. Incredibly engaging and thorough in explanations. I can sometimes find the courses to be very commercially directed and can struggle to follow along however Matt ensured that he explained everything in simple terms and kept a great energy. He was brill!
